Music Ministry
Music is an important part of our ministry here at Central. Using our voices and other musical talent, we glorify the Lord and offer up to Him sacrifices of praise.
Choir
Adult and Handbell Choir
Director: Donald Dowdy
The Music Ministry of Central Presbyterian Church includes three choirs: The Adult Choir, the Handbell Choir and the Children's Choir. The Adult Choir sings God's praises for most Worship Services. Membership is open to men and women ages 12 and up. We sing many varying styles of Christian music, ranging from Chant to Gospel, Classical to Contemporary, accompanied and a cappella. Many anthems are accompanied by various instruments. We rehearse most Wednesday evenings from 6:15-7:30.
Our Handbell Choir is currently a 3-octave group, ranging from ages 12 and up. We usually perform every 6-8 weeks, often as an offertory or a prelude. Our Handbell Choir generally participates in annual Handbell festivals around the Southeast. The regular rehearsal time is Sunday mornings form 8:30-9:15.
Children's Choir
The Children's Choir is for children from Kindergarten through Fifth Grade. The Children's Choir performs periodically during Sunday morning Worship Service.
